Job Description – Corporate Partner
Due to ongoing growth, our client has an immediate opening for a Corporate Partner to join its team in Toronto. The partner will assist clients in a wide range of business transactions and participate in growing the firm’s corporate commercial practice group.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Advise clients on complex corporate and commercial transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures, corporate finance. Securites experience is an asset, but not essential.
- Provide legal guidance on corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
- Lead due diligence processes and manage legal teams through transactional work.
- Participate in and support business development activities, including client relationship management.
- Mentor and supervise associates, and articling students.
Education and Professional Skills/Knowledge
- LL.B. or J.D. degree (or equivalent).
- Good standing with a Canadian Law Society.
- 8+ years of corporate experience at a top tier firm or company.
- Excellent drafting, analytical, and communication skills.
- Strong work ethic, client service orientation, and an entrepreneurial outlook.
