Job Description – Leasing Lawyer
Due to continued growth in its market-leading Real Estate Group, our client has an immediate opening for an experienced Leasing Lawyer to join its team in Toronto. The successful candidate will work with sophisticated landlord and tenant clients across retail, office, industrial, and mixed-use portfolios. For the right individual, partnership opportunities are available.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial leasing agreements, including retail, office, industrial, and ground leases.
- Advise clients on leasing strategy, portfolio management, and related real property matters.
- Support and participate in business development initiatives, including client relationship management and practice growth.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the Real Estate Group and the broader firm.
Education and Professional Skills/Knowledge
- LL.B. or J.D. degree (or equivalent).
- Good standing with a Canadian Law Society.
- 6+ years of dedicated commercial leasing experience at a leading firm or organization.
- Strong drafting, negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage sophisticated mandates independently.
- Strong work ethic, client service orientation, and a collaborative, entrepreneurial outlook.
