Job Description – Corporate Partner

 

Our client is seeking a Corporate Partner to join its Toronto office, with particular strength in securities law and corporate finance. The successful candidate will play a key role in advising on complex transactions while driving the continued growth of the corporate group.

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

 

  • Act as lead counsel on public and private financings, M&A transactions, and corporate commercial matters.
  • Advise clients on securities law compliance, disclosure obligations, stock exchange rules, and regulatory filings.
  • Provide governance and regulatory advice to public company clients.
  • Oversee due diligence and manage teams on sophisticated transactions.
  • Build and deepen client relationships, supported by a collaborative, market-facing platform.
  • Contribute to the mentoring and development of associates and students.

 

Education and Professional Skills/Knowledge

 

  • LL.B. or J.D. (or equivalent), in good standing with a Canadian Law Society.
  • 10+ years of corporate experience, with strong securities and corporate finance exposure.
  • Established client base or growing practice with demonstrated potential.
  • Strong drafting, analytical, and relationship management skills.
  • Entrepreneurial outlook, with a desire to grow within a collaborative, full-service environment.
