Job Description – Corporate Partner
Our client is seeking a Corporate Partner to join its Toronto office, with particular strength in securities law and corporate finance. The successful candidate will play a key role in advising on complex transactions while driving the continued growth of the corporate group.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Act as lead counsel on public and private financings, M&A transactions, and corporate commercial matters.
- Advise clients on securities law compliance, disclosure obligations, stock exchange rules, and regulatory filings.
- Provide governance and regulatory advice to public company clients.
- Oversee due diligence and manage teams on sophisticated transactions.
- Build and deepen client relationships, supported by a collaborative, market-facing platform.
- Contribute to the mentoring and development of associates and students.
Education and Professional Skills/Knowledge
- LL.B. or J.D. (or equivalent), in good standing with a Canadian Law Society.
- 10+ years of corporate experience, with strong securities and corporate finance exposure.
- Established client base or growing practice with demonstrated potential.
- Strong drafting, analytical, and relationship management skills.
- Entrepreneurial outlook, with a desire to grow within a collaborative, full-service environment.
