Remember Your Why

March 27, 2020

In these unprecedented times, it is easy to get bogged down by the overwhelming amount of information and daily changes to our every-day life. Roles are changing, jobs are being eliminated and the way we do almost everything has evolved. It is easy to question it all and potentially lose confidence.

To combat the issue, it is important to always remember the reason you do what you do. What’s your cause, what do you believe in? These things make you who you are. In your work, the further away you get from your ‘why’, the sooner you become dissatisfied and unhappy.

At the Counsel Network’s annual retreat on March 2, 2020 we opened the retreat, as we do annually with ‘Why do we do what we do?’ Less than a month later the world has changed but our ‘Why’ has not.  For us, it is, and always has been our goal to make a difference in the legal profession. To change people’s lives and to give them the information, tools and guidance to achieve their goals and aspirations; to assist law firms and legal departments to define their strategy and execute it.  That doesn’t change in today’s world, nor will it in the future. We encourage you to look at the reason you do what you do and hold tight to that as we come through this together.

A great video and resource for this is Simon Sinek’s, “Start With Why”. We will leave you with a video link here. If there is anything we can do to help, please do not hesitate to contact us.
