Job Description – Securities Partner

 

Our client is seeking a Securities Partner to join its Toronto office, with particular strength in securities law and corporate finance. The successful candidate will play a key role in advising on complex transactions while driving the continued growth of the corporate group.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

 

· Act as lead counsel on public and private financings, M&A transactions, and corporate commercial matters.
· Advise clients on securities law compliance, disclosure obligations, stock exchange rules, and regulatory filings.
· Provide governance and regulatory advice to public company clients.
· Oversee due diligence and manage teams on sophisticated transactions.
· Build and deepen client relationships, supported by a collaborative, market-facing platform.
· Contribute to the mentoring and development of associates and students.

 

Education and Professional Skills/Knowledge

 

· LL.B. or J.D. (or equivalent), in good standing with the Canadian Law Society.
· 10+ years of corporate experience, with strong securities and corporate finance exposure.
· Established client base or growing practice with demonstrated potential.
· Strong drafting, analytical, and relationship management skills.
· Entrepreneurial outlook, with a desire to grow within a collaborative, full-service environment.
