Job Description – M&A Legal Counsel

Due to ongoing growth, GFL seeks an M&A Legal Counsel to join its team. Reporting to the General Counsel, the successful candidate must be a high energy self-starter, a team player with strong interpersonal skills, and a quick study who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. As the ideal candidate, you must have three to five years of corporate law experience gained at a top-tier law firm or company. The role will focus primarily on M&A transactions, but will also assist with general corporate, securities, and financing matters.

 

The legal group, together with the business development group and executives of GFL, operates out of the company’s Yorkville office located at Bloor St. and Avenue Road.

 

Education and Professional Skills/Knowledge

  • LL.B. or J.D. degree (or equivalent).
  • Good standing with a Canadian Law Society.
  • 3-5 years of strong M&A experience gained at a top law firm or company.
  • Excellent technical and drafting skills, and exceptional work ethic.
  • High energy self-starter, team player with strong interpersonal skills, and quick study who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
